Catholic Guardian Services is opening a new Family Counselling and Wellness Center (CGS FAMILY CENTER) in the Bronx, NY. The Center provides a comprehensive continuum of outpatient services to children, adolescents, young adults up to age 25, and their adult family members, caretakers and direct supports who are based in the Bronx and surrounding NYC localities without regard to race, sex, age, religion, national origin, limited English proficiency, sexual orientation, marital status, or handicap. CGS Family Center functions in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health (NYSOMH) 14 NYCRR §599.8 Clinic Services regulations and standards.

CGS will be holding interviews for a Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychotherapists; Full-time and Part- time positions available. To apply please send resume to careers@catholicguardian.org

Fulltime positions provide 4 weeks' vacation, ample sick and personal days, 16-18 holidays per year, health/dental/vision, 403b and a pension.

Psychiatrist: The psychiatrist provides psychiatric and medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment; evaluating medical and psychosocial conditions; developing, implementing, and approving treatment plans; including prescription of psychotropic medications; monitoring and evaluating treatment results. The psychiatrist is also a member of the interdisciplinary team and may assist in the clinical supervision, education, and training of the team; and development, maintenance, and supervision of medication as applicable.

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York; Board Certified in Psychiatry, Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred
  • Knowledge of the Child Welfare System is desirable
  • Two years professional experience with emphasis on diagnostics and a team approach preferred
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred

Salary: $190,000 – $205,000/YR Full-time or $190 – $200/HR for Part –time hours

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible to provide and coordinate the care of consumers in the ambulatory clinic setting by assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual and potential health problems, including evaluation of the consumer's response to the care. Additional duties include but may not be limited to the ability to assess data reflective of the consumer's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each consumer's requirements relative to his or her age, specific needs, and to provide the appropriate and applicable care as needed. This includes the provision of psych education for the consumer and their supports; and collaboration with the clinic team members as applicable in planning for the consumer's care and achieving treatment goals.

  • Masters in Nursing (MSN)
  • Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of New York; certified in psychiatric nursing
  • Knowledge of the Child Welfare System is desirable
  • Two years professional experience with emphasis on diagnostics and a team approach preferred
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred

Salary: $80,000.00-$90,000.00/YR for Fulltime or $49.00/HR for Part-time hours

Psychotherapists: Provides clinical assessment & diagnosis, crisis assessment/intervention support, and psychotherapy (opportunities for training to provide prescribed evidence-based modalities as available and applicable to consumer populations).

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or other relevant license eligible behavioral science degree
  • LMSW or other license to provide assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapeutic intervention in the State of New York
  • At least two years of licensed clinical experience and child welfare/child protective services is preferred
  • Experience with Evidence-Based Models is preferred
  • Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills
  • Effective communicator with excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred

Salary: $48,000 – $52,000.00/YR
